Electronic properties of the amylose-iodine complex.

The anhydrous amylose-iodine complex exhibits semiconductive behavior and a knee is present in the Arrhenius plot with an activation energy change from 0.68 to 1.12eV. Measurements on the hydrated complex suggest it is an ionic conductor.
