Practical Information
Climate
In October, Osaka experiences mild and pleasant weather, making it a great time to visit. Average daytime temperatures range from 23°C (73°F) to 15°C (59°F) at night. Humidity is around 65%, and while the days are generally sunny, evenings can be cool. The autumn foliage also begins to change colors towards the end of the month.
Currency
The Japanese Yen is the currency of Japan (currency code for Yen is JPY, and the currency symbol is ¥). Cash is still a very popular payment method, especially for small amounts. Credit and debit cards are now widely accepted, especially in big cities. Most hotels accept payment by credit cards, as do most department stores, mid to high end restaurants, outlet malls and large retail shops. In addition, many train stations, convenience stores, supermarkets, chain restaurants and boutiques also accept them.
Dress Code
The dress code for SReXperts 2025 is business casual.
Electricity/Voltage
The voltage in Japan is 100 Volt, which is different from North America (120V), Central Europe (230V) and most other regions of the world. Electrical outlets in Japan are type A, with two flat plugs (as in the United States), so you will need a Europe/Japan power adapter to use them.
Visas
As you prepare for SReXperts APAC 2025 in Japan, it's important to be well-informed about the visa process.
Please look at the list of the countries that have the visa exemption agreement with Japan. If your country is included in the list, you usually do not need to apply for an entry visa to Japan.
If your country is not included in the list, you need to obtain a short-term stay visa (“tanki-shouyou visa” in Japanese) from the embassy of Japan in your country.
Read carefully the Japanese visa guide provided by the ministry of foreign affairs. For entry into Japan, a VISA may be required for attendees from some countries. Please make sure whether you need to apply for a VISA or not on the web site of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
It takes time for the Embassy to process the VISA application, please register as early as you can to make sure you have enough time.
If you require an official Nokia invitation letter to apply for a visa, please contact your Nokia representative to request support. For Nokia staff, please follow the instructions on the event intranet.
