Exploring the Industrial Metaverse: A Research Workshop

At this event, representatives from partner companies and students from Aalto University convened to discuss the industrial metaverse from various perspectives. Each student collaborates with a partner company for their master’s thesis, and the workshop provided an opportunity for them to present their work and engage in valuable discussions.

Following the presentations, participants had the chance to experience Nokia’s latest VR-glasses technology.

This workshop is part of the Industrial Metaverse Use Cases and Capabilities (IMUCC) Co-Research project. IMUCC focuses on selected industrial metaverse use cases and capabilities, addressing key questions such as:

1.    What are the main prerequisites for implementing industrial metaverse capabilities?
2.    What kind of use cases and tangible benefits can the industrial metaverse bring for enterprises?
3.    How should implementation be aligned with the ongoing digitalization of the industry ecosystem?

The companies involved in this project are Sandvik, KONE, Metsä, Telia Company, Helen, and Alphacore.
