Test your skills with no risk. This is your best opportunity to take your first or tenth Nokia certification exam!
Exams are available both in-person at Wavelengths or online post-event from anywhere. You can choose either option and take any exams from our Nokia Optical Network Certification (ONC) Program.
In-person exams are available during the event, and online exams are available from Sunday, April 20th to Saturday, April 26th.
Nokia Optical Network Certification (ONC) Program
The Nokia Optical Network Certification (ONC) Program is an end-to-end learning program supporting the 1830 PSS, 1830 VWM, and NFM-T / WaveSuite NOC-based networks. The program is designed to equip participants with the hands-on skills, confidence, and demonstrated abilities needed in today’s advanced optical networks.
The ONC Program consists of four certifications:
- Nokia Certified Optical Network Professional – New to the ONC program? This is your best place to start and become certified by passing one exam!
- Nokia Certified Optical Network Services Expert
- Nokia Certified Optical Network Design Expert
- Nokia Certified Optical Network Architect

- Nokia Optical Networking Fundamentals (4A0-205) – Become a Nokia Certified Optical Network Professional with one exam!
- Nokia Optical Network Management with Wavesuite NOC (4A0-210)
- Nokia Fundamentals of Optical Network Design (4A0-250)
- Nokia Advanced Optical Network Design (4A0-255)
- Nokia Advanced Optical Network Management with NFM-T (4A0-260)
- Nokia Optical Diagnostics and Troubleshooting (4A0-265)
- Nokia GMPLS-controlled Optical Networks (4A0-220)
- Nokia Integrated Packet Transport over WDM (4A0-230)
- Nokia Optical Transport for Mobile Services (4A0-240)

Exam registration
Registration is now open for in-person and online exams. In-person exams will be available at the event during the following hours:
- Day 1: April 8 (9 am-6 pm)
- Day 2: April 9 (9 am-6 pm)
- Day 3: April 10 (9 am-5 pm)
Online exams are available from Sunday, April 20th to Saturday, April 26th
A maximum of two exams can be taken online. Employees cannot take free certification exams; only Nokia customers and partners attending Wavelengths. For questions or support, please get in touch with Nokia NI Learning Services:
Exams will be held during the entire event at the following times:
- Day 1: April 8 (9 am-6 pm)
- Day 2: April 9 (9 am-6 pm)
- Day 3: April 10 (9 am-5 pm)
How to register:
- Navigate to the Written Exam Registration Guide to create a Student Portal account or log in to your existing account.
- Once logged in, select “Exam Registration” from the menu on the left.
- Select your exam and complete the steps to Finalize Registration.
- You will be taken to the Registration in Progress page. If you do not see the blue button "Schedule with Pearson VUE", refresh the page.
- Click on the Schedule with Pearson button to be directed to the Pearson VUE website.
- Select the “At a test center” option for where you would like to take your exam.
- Review the “Prepare for your exam” steps and select "Next".
- Review and "Agree" to the Nokia policies.
- Find the test center by searching for "Vienna" and choosing the Wavelengths venue. Select "Next".
- Select a date and time to write the exam.
- April 8-10
- Review cart and select “Proceed to Checkout”.
- Select “Next” and complete the booking.
- Review confirmation emails received to ensure all details are correct and understood.
Registration is now open and closes on April 26th, with all the exams taking place from Sunday, April 20th to Saturday, April 26th.
Free certification exams are unavailable for employees; only Nokia customers and partners attending SReXperts can take them. A maximum of two exams can be taken online, and additional exams can be taken at the event.
Please note—Nokia incurs a charge if you don't show up for your scheduled exam. If you are a no-show, Nokia may charge you for the exam, and your ability to take future exams may be restricted. We understand that sometimes things come up, so if you need to reschedule, please do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any charges or restrictions. You will receive email reminders leading up to your exam.
How to register:
- Navigate to the Written Exam Registration Guide to create a Student Portal account or log in to your existing account.
- Once logged in, select “Exam Registration” from the menu on the left.
- Select your exam and complete the steps to Finalize Registration.
- You will be taken to the Registration in Progress page. If you do not see the blue button "Schedule with Pearson VUE", refresh the page.
- Click on the Schedule with Pearson button to be directed to the Pearson VUE website.
- Select the “Online at my home or office” option for where you would like to take your exam.
- Complete the “Prepare for your exam” steps.
- Once the exam preparation steps are successfully completed, select “Next”.
- Review the online exam policies and select “Agree”.
- Answer the registration questions and select “Next”.
- Select a date from April 20-26 and a time to write the exam.
- OnVUE exams are offered 24/7, so please consider AM vs. PM when selecting a session in your time zone.
- Review cart and select “Proceed to Checkout”.
- Add the event Promo Code: WLEURLAT25
- Select “Next” and complete the booking.
- Review confirmation emails received to ensure all details are correct and understood.
