Abhishek Nair

Biography

Abhishek Nair is an AI/ML algorithm engineer at the Platform and ASIC Research Lab, Nokia Bell Labs, where he develops energy-efficient hardware and software solutions for accelerating AI and machine learning workloads. His research focuses on optimizing state-of-the-art AI models for novel accelerator architectures, enabling scalable and sustainable AI deployment.

With over a decade of experience across industrial research and product development, Abhishek specializes in AI hardware-software co-design, computer architecture, high-performance computing, embedded AI systems, and efficient AI inference and training. His work bridges fundamental research with practical deployment, driving innovations that improve the performance and energy efficiency of next-generation AI systems.

Abhishek received his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, where he specialized in low-power machine learning accelerators for edge intelligence. He has published in leading journals, including the IEEE IoT Journal and IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems, and has presented at premier conferences such as ISCAS, VLSID, and MWSCAS.

Prior to joining Nokia Bell Labs, he held research and engineering roles at Fujitsu Research, Intel, Qualcomm, and AI startups, contributing to AI systems, embedded computing, and high-performance architectures for real-world applications.
