Satish Kanugovi

Biography

Satish Kanugovi is Senior Principal Network Architect in the Network Architecture Research Lab at Nokia Bell Labs and leads the Nokia Bell Labs India site. His current research is in Cloud AI RAN, agentic self-evolution of radio networks, and network resiliency, including terrestrial and non-terrestrial network interworking and orchestration.

Across nearly three decades at Lucent, Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia, his work has spanned wireless systems engineering, mobile networking standards, network architecture and research-to-product translation, addressing problems in cross-network coordination, application-aware networking and system evolution across different technologies and deployments.

Beyond his technical work, Satish has contributed to building Nokia’s research and innovation ecosystem in India, including collaborations with leading universities, research institutions and ecosystem partners connected with Nokia’s 6G Lab in Bengaluru. He also previously led Nokia’s standards and industry ecosystem activities in the APAC region.

He holds a B.E. in Electronics and Communication from Delhi College of Engineering and a Master’s in Nyaya Darshana, a school of Indian logic and epistemology, from Karnataka Samskrit University. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and has 40+ patents and multiple publications.
