Overview

How VodafoneThree and Nokia are translating advanced 5G capabilities into faster, more reliable connectivity for UK customers.

In September 2026, VodafoneThree launched Vodafone SuperMobile™, a premium proposition powered by 5G+ (5G Standalone). Designed to deliver a more dependable mobile experience, it offers speeds up to four times faster than standard plans in high demand areas on its new 5G+ FastTrack™, guaranteed minimum speeds of 15 Mbps, and advanced security features enabled by 5G+ encryption and market leading Secure Net Mobile protection.

This new category of mobile connectivity demonstrates how VodafoneThree’s network investment can create clear, differentiated value for consumers and businesses. Supported by Nokia’s advanced radio access network technology in parts of the network, the advanced network capabilities help prioritise eligible traffic, deliver a consistent experience and help customers stay connected, even during periods of peak demand.

“Vodafone SuperMobile™ is a great example of how we're translating the capabilities of our 5G+ network into tangible customer benefits, combining advanced technologies such as network slicing to deliver a faster, more reliable mobile experience. Our partnership with Nokia is helping us unlock new ways to differentiate connectivity, building the foundation for next generation of consumer, business and critical communication services.”

Challenge

Mobile customers increasingly expect consistent performance wherever they are - from congested commuter routes and crowded events to enterprise environments and high-demand urban locations. Yet conventional “best-effort” mobile connectivity can make performance less predictable when many users compete for the same radio resources.

As part of its £11 billion, eight-year investment programme, VodafoneThree set out to move beyond a one-size-fits-all mobile experience. The goal was to use 5G Standalone capabilities to offer differentiated connectivity with greater speed, reliability and assurance -while supporting distinct service needs across consumer, business and critical communications use cases.

Solution

Nokia worked with VodafoneThree to enable advanced RAN capabilities across Nokia-supplied parts of the network. Quality-of-service profiles, Slice-Aware Scheduling and service-assurance functions help prioritise eligible traffic, maintain minimum service levels and preserve access during periods of contention - supporting the differentiated 5G+ FastTrack experience.

“Vodafone SuperMobile™ shows how advanced 5G capabilities can become a service customers understand and value. By combining VodafoneThree’s 5G+ vision with Nokia’s radio innovation, we are helping deliver differentiated performance when and where it matters most.”
