100-Gbaud PAM-4 intensity-modulation direct-detection transceiver for datacenter interconnects

We demonstrate an intensity-modulation direct-detection PAM-4 transceiver generating optical signals at record symbol rates of 84 and 100 Gbaud which are successfully demodulated after 1 km and 500 m of standard single mode fiber respectively.
