Text: AT&T high-voltage integrated offer system designers flexible, rugger, reliable and low cost alternatives to electromechanical relays and discrete high-voltage transistors. Circuitry that connects directly to copper wire subscriber loops must be able to pass high-voltage ringing, battery feed and testing signals and survive high-voltage and high-current transients that can be caused by lightening and nearby power lines. AT&T high-voltage integrated circuits (HVICs) are designed for applications such as this to replace conventional electromechanical relays and assemblies of discrete high-voltage transistors.
