AT&T Mail is a worldwide public messaging service with many features for business communication. It supports a wide range of data communications equipment and computers and provides connections to all major electronic communication media, including facsimile (FAC) and telex service. While simple to use, AT&T Mail is flexible and fits many diverse applications. Today, customers use AT&T Mail to distribute price quotes to clients, transmit purchase order information, and conduct a wide variety of corporate business tasks that previously had been manual or implemented on unconnected, disparate systems. Using AT&T's Unified Messaging Strategy and the x-400 messaging standard, AT&T Mail can communicate between systems. Private, customer premises systems and global public network are integrated. AT&T Mail is built on a flexible architecture that supports AT&T's electronic mail and electronic data interchange (EDI) services. It can be expanded to provide other services as well.
