Benchmark Studies on ASPEN

Pattern Recognition is the problem of automatically classifying an unknown pattern as one of a known set of reference patterns. Applications include speech recognition, speaker recognition, and shape recognition of imaged objects. As the number and variability of the reference patterns increases, so do the computational requirements of the system, leading one to consider parallel processing in order to speed up the computation.
