Benefit of ageing of margins in WDM elastic networks when accounting for regeneration

This work quantifies the ratio of transponders saved throughout the 10-year life of 2 WDM networks by considering gradual ageing of systems margins versus their end-of-life values, and actual routing of channels with regeneration.
