Complex Molecular Motions in Bulk Hard-Segment Polyurethanes: A Deuterium NMR Study

Solid-state deuterium NMR spectroscoy is used to characterize molecular motion in two specifically deuterated polyurethane hard-segment polymers. The polyurethanes consist of bis(4-isocyanophenyl)methane (MDI), chain extended with butanediol-2,2,3,3-d sub 4 (BDO), and 2,4-toluenediyl diisocyanate (TDI), chain extended with butanediol-2,2,3,3-d sub 4.
