Cost and performance issues of a Packet-Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer technology

This paper analyses techno-economical and performance aspects of a Packet-Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (P-OADM) based ring network. The paper demonstrates that this solution could reduce CAPEX of nodes while maintaining high network performance.
