Cross-Phase Modulation from L-Band Amplifiers in WDM Systems

We measure and compare the levels of cross-phase modulation produced in an erbium-doped fiber amplifier to that produced in both dispersion shifted and conventional transmission fiber for a 10 Gb/s L-band WDM system.
