Delamination of Poly(etheretherketone) Composites
Considerable interest has been expressed by the aerospace community in a new class of composite material in which the matrix is a high temperature thermoplastic. The most prominent member of this new class of composite matrix is a semi-crystalline polymer known as poly(etheretherketone) (PEEK). Among the many advantages of PEEK over the more conventional thermosetting epoxy material is its resistance to delamination.
