Demonstration of 50 Gbps IM/DD PAM4 PON over 10 GHz Class Optics Using Neural Network Based Nonlinear Equalization

We apply digital back propagation based neural network regression algorithms as the nonlinear equalization approach, and realize up to 50Gbps PAM4 IM-DD PON using 10GHz optics with an overall end-to-end 3.6GHz 3-dB bandwidth.
