Dispersion tolerant alternative 10-Gb/s transmitters and implications for WDM optical networking

We review some of the recently introduced 10-Gb/s transmitters and techniques that allow wide dispersion tolerances. We examine the implications of using such solutions in optical networks and enumerate potential benefits as well as limitations.
