Dock-To-Shop in a Variable Manufacturing Environment

Dock-to-Shop (DTS) is the process by which material is received from the supplier onto the customer's receiving dock and goes to the shop floor bypassing the storeroom. It is considered to be a Just-In-Time (JIT) process allowing for less storeroom inventory which saves inventory storate costs for the company implementing the process.
