Dynamic Communication Channel Assignment for ISDN Switch Services

New Image

The introduction of new ISDN features and services has resulted in increased demands on network resources (especially on local switching systems). In order to minimize the impact of these new services on switch resources, novel enhancements to the switch architecture are often necessary. This lecture describes one such novel approach for allocating voice communication channels. After providing a high-level abstract version of the switch architecture and ISDN service, the talk focuses on the probabilistic modeling needed to quantify the relative performance of various alternative implementations.
