Efficient Precoding Scheme for Dual-Polarization Multi-Soliton Spectral Amplitude Modulation

Spectral amplitude modulation for dual-polarization multi-soliton transmission is considered. During propagation, both spectral amplitudes per eigenvalue become highly correlated. A precoding scheme is proposed to transform the spectral amplitudes into another set of quantities with much less correlation allowing disjoint detection with higher reliability. The performance of the scheme is verified in Split-Step-Fourier simulations for first and second order solitons.
