Electron Glass in InO sub x

The electron glass state can form at low temperature in a semiconductor when Coulomb repulsions stabilize disordered electronic configurations with the electrons as distant as possible. Its clearest signature is a suppressed density of states for injected electrons, which can be observed as an reduced screening capacitance of a capacitor in which the semiconductor forms one plate.
