Electronic Equalization and FEC Enable Bidirectional CWDM Capacities of 9.6 Tb/s-km

Using electronic equalization and forward error correction (FEC), we demonstrate CWDM transmission capacities of 16x10 Gb/s over 40 km and 32x10 Gb/s (16 bidirectional channels) over 30 km of low-water-peak standard single-mode fiber.
