Enhancing Physical Layer Security of MIMO-SDM Systems via Information Scrambling

Using a wire-tapping eavesdropper's bit error ratio (BER) after decoding as the security metric, we show that an information scrambler based on a linear feedback shift register (LFSR) significantly enhances the physical layer security in multiple-input-multiple-output space-division multiplexing (MIMO-SDM), with negligible penalty for the legitimate receiver.
