Ethernet Based In-Service Reconfiguration of SoCs in Telecommunication Networks
15 March 2007
This application allows manufacturers of telecommunication equipment to bring innovative network functionaliy earlier to the market than with the established technologies. After deployment the SoC may be updated in-service via the existing infrastructure. For some applications even the public Internet may be used for the distribution of the reconfiguration data. The MORPHEUS project provides us the opportunity to proof the concept in two ways: Emulation of the reconfigurable SoC architecture with two FPGAs; Implementation of the application on the reconfigurable MORPHEUS SoC architecture.
