The different categories of new ISDN services being introduced. e.g., multibutton key services, attendant services, display services, business/residence services, ISDN data network services, individual calling line identification services, individual calling line identification service, and application processor service will be discussed. Following this introduction the paper will focus on selected ISDN service trials in the United States where end-user and Telephone Company experiences with selected offerings of these new services have been and are being observed and evaluated. Experience with the effectiveness and completeness of the ISDN standards between the switch and the terminal equipment will be discussed. Also, key operations, administration and maintenance related experiences gained in implementing and supporting the new services will be covered. This will include such issues as service provisioning, traffic engineering, call charging, customer premise equipment and c.o. switch related maintenance, etc.
