General Pricing Framework for Multiple Service Multiple Resource Systems
01 January 1993
Integrated services share resources both to increase functionality and to decrease cost. Since resources are limited, there are interactions among these services. The management of a multiple service, multiple resource system (MSMR) thus involves admission decisions on service requests. The basis for the admission decisions - admission policies - is often based on the ability to meet a user's Quality of Service (QOS) requirements. However, other issues such as price | tariff also play important roles. In this paper, we consider two simple threshold - controlled admission policies: the sum control scheme and the individual control scheme. We analyze the blocking probably for each type of customers under the two admission control policies.
