Management of Message Identifiers in Distributed-Queue-Dual- Bus Metropolitan-Area Networks.

A simple, full distributed, and robust algorithm is proposed for management of message identifiers in Distributed-Queue- Dual-Bus metropolitan-area networks, also known as Queued-Packet- Synchronous-Switch (QPSX) networks [1]. This contribution was presented to the IEEE 802.6 Working Group (on Metropolitan Area Network standards) at its meeting in Danvers, Massachusetts, on July 11, 1988.
