New Approach to End-to-End UMTS Network Reliability Testing

The proposed end-to-end UMTS reliability testing approach advocates a single stability index to gauge the overall health of the network, plus additional network downtime metrics that are evaluated using software reliability engineering techniques. Use of software reliability engineering techniques allows us to make best use of the stability test run data in that both occurrences and durations of events are used to track network reliability growth from the customer's perspective.
