Rare-Earth Substitution in (BiYCa) sub 3 (FeSiGe) sub 5 O sub 12 Bubble Films

New Image

The substitution of Y by Sm, Tb, Gd and Ho in Bi YIG bubble garnet films is shown to have large effects on the growth-induced anisotropy K(g)(u). A loss of K(g)(u) due to Gd, Ho substitution requires an increase from 60-65K to 80-85K in supercooling for growth of the presently accepted standard bubble garnet film.
