Software Quality Assurance Plan for the International 5ESS (TM) Switch

This paper presents the framework of the software quality assurance plan for the development of the 5ESS(TM) switch for international customers. Some characteristics of the 5ESS software are (1) large - millions of noncommentary source lines, (2) complex - distributed processing with many advanced telephone services, and (3) reliable - very high reliability requirements and many fault-tolerant features. In order to develop a reliable 5ESS switch with advanced at a competitive costs, the software quality assurance plan plays an essential role in the development process.
