Starlite: A Wideband Digital Switch
01 January 1984
The Starlite switching system is a tool of switch fabrics for constructing self-routing, non-blocking switches. The nodes in the fabrics are extremely simple, allowing 100's of nodes to fit on a chip, and latency through each node is fixed at one or two clock cycles, which translates to under a hundred nanoseconds with current CMOS chip technologies.
