As sealed lead-acid batteries are utilized in telecommunications equipment in rapidly increasing numbers, the importance of selecting application parameters with good engineering understanding has become critical. However the effective utilization of these batteries depends on an understanding of scarce statistical data on the cells' parameters which affects the selection of charging and discharging limits. These limits effect the probability of exceeding cell limits as well as the utilization of the cell's capacity.
