Using LDPC Coding in OOK Optical Links: Transceiver Requirements

This paper investigates the required specifications of transimpedance amplifier (TIA) and analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for realization of soft-decision low-density parity-check forward error correction (FEC) in an optical transceiver. Furthermore, the impact of the FEC on the power dissipation of the transceiver is studied.
