Variable-reactance frequency multipliers
01 January 1963
A generalized discussion of varactors used as harmonic generators, together with the necessary mathematics for understanding the principal characteristics. Comparison is made with nonlinear resistances. Tuning problems are discussed; also the influence of diode cut-off frequency on efficiency. A practical multiplier assembly is illustrated, but without performance characteristics. An appendix provides a theoretical analysis of the basic series doubler circuit. Nine references are given.
