Harish Viswanathan received the B. Tech. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India in 1992 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Electrical Engineering, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY in 1995 and 1997, respectively. Since joining Bell Labs in October 1997, he has worked on multiple antenna technology for cellular wireless networks, network optimization, mesh networking, and mobility management. He is currently with the CTO Partners Group in the Corporate CTO organization in Bell Labs. His current responsibilities include identifying strategic directions that Alcatel-Lucent should pursue in Wireless related areas and co-leads the 5G research project.
