Biography

Mayukh Roy Chowdhury is a Research Engineer in the Radio Systems Research group at Nokia Bell Labs, working at the convergence of artificial intelligence and wireless communications to enable intelligent and autonomous 6G networks. His research interests include AI-RAN, AI for wireless systems, wireless foundation models, next-generation cellular networks, and edge intelligence.

Prior to joining Bell Labs, Mayukh was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Virginia Tech, USA where he conducted research on AI-driven communication systems and contributed to the development of the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) xG Testbed, a large-scale O-RAN-based platform for next-generation wireless experimentation. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in 2022 and his M.Tech. in Communication Systems Engineering from IIT Patna in 2016. His doctoral research focused on resource-efficient strategies for massive machine-type communications (mMTC) in 5G networks.

Throughout his career, Mayukh has contributed to advancements in AI-driven radio resource management, network slicing, spectrum sharing, and large-scale wireless testbeds, spanning both industrial and academic research environments. His work has resulted in patents, award-winning demonstrations, and publications in leading IEEE journals and conferences. Prior to Virginia Tech, he held research and engineering positions at Samsung Research (6G Lab), TCS Innovation Labs, and Infosys Limited.
