Car2X - MIIT and Chinese automotive representatives visit Nokia

As a follow up of the recently signed Sino-German Memorandum of Understanding for economic co-operation – which has a high focus on the joint development of Connected and Automated Mobility – on October 26 Nokia hosted representatives from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Chinese car manufacturers and Chinese scientific institutions. The delegation was headed by Mr. Xie Cun, Vice Director General of the Bureau of Radio Regulation, which is responsible for Chinese spectrum regulations and assignments.

Delegates got first-hand experience about the Car2X test results collected on the German ‘Digitales Testfeld Autobahn’ (the A9 motorway between Munich and Nuremberg) and discussed the business models that will be enabled by the introduction of the Edge Cloud into the overall Car2X solution, with a special focus on the value open platforms like Nokia Multi-Access Edge Computing can bring.

In the Munich Digital Creativity Lab they studied Nokia Bell Labs activities in Germany with focus on Network Slicing, especially Nokia’s joint activities with Port of Hamburg and with BMW – the lead projects that show the power of Network Slicing, which will create new concepts and business models in an industrial environment with better reliability, security and performance.
