In Middle East and Africa we are introducing the Female Graduate Program to address our gender diversity balance and are looking to attract and hire 100 female graduates.
Feel part of a dynamic global community
At Nokia, you will be part of a team that is made up of individuals from an enormous variety of personal and professional backgrounds, expertise and experience. It is something we celebrate; it is one of our strengths and it sets us apart. A vast majority of Nokia working teams, at all levels of our business, are made up of people from all different nationalities and walks of life. With an executive leadership team comprised of over 6 different nationalities, three female members and an extremely diverse number of educational backgrounds, our appreciation and respect for differences of thought and experience starts at the top.
Our global commitment to diversity
In 2016, Nokia’s CEO Rajeev Suri shared Nokia’s ambition to have a gender balance that reflects the world around us and a workplace where both men and women have an equal opportunity to succeed in every function and at every level. The Gender Balance Steering committee headed by Mr. Barry French, Executive Vice President, Marketing, Communications and Corporate Affairs, is driving an holistic action plan starting with awareness, and over 1900 leaders and managers were trained on gender balance topics in 2016.
On March 8, 2017, International Women’s Day, Rajeev Suri signed the United Nations Women Empowerment Principles, stating that Nokia is committed to doing its part to eliminate the disparity in technology companies between men and women. Doing so is not just good business, it is also the right thing to do. In 2016, 14% of our senior management positions were held by women. In total, women accounted for 22% of Nokia workforce in 2016.
One of our commitment is to build a long-term talent pipeline by helping to bring more girls into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). In 2016, we celebrated our Nokia Role Models, as a source of inspiration for girls, through International Women’s Day, the Girls in ICT Day, and Ada Lovelace Day.

Our female graduate program in Middle East and Africa
This year we kicked- off our initial 2-year program in Middle East and Africa aiming at attracting 100 female graduates.
The program has been designed to support the initial short term hiring of female graduates throughout the region and offering opportunities to gain hands on work experience in real life environments.
By joining this program, you will complete your education and get a first hands on experience with an industry leading technology company and this can be your first entry to a permanent role after graduation within our company.
Over the course of 2017 and 2018, our team will be partnering with numerous regional universities, institutions and other government run programs to create awareness of the initiative and to deliver on our commitment to change.
