Stopping DDoS is easy, stopping only DDoS is hard
DDoS. No longer a mere productivity disruptor but an indispensable tool in the arsenal of sophisticated cyber criminals. There is no easy ways stopping it these days. Exponential growth of Botnets and Residential Proxies means more ammunition to throw at targets. No amount of defence can catch up economically with the seemingly boundless resources of threat actors. Botnet traffic is incredibly hard to stop using traditional DDoS countermeasures and oftentimes will also bulldoze through legitimate traffic causing even more problems for network operators. A more novel approach is needed to combat these newer adversaries with highest efficiency, lowest cost per bit economics all the while without causing untoward disruption. In this session, we will walk you through how Nokia Deepfield solution employs innovative countermeasure strategies in mitigating both volumetric and session-layer attacks.
Nokia validated designs
In this session we will introduce you to Nokia-validated designs (NVDs) for data centers, offering technical guidance for various deployment types and use cases. Specifically, we will delve into the newly released 3-stage EVPN VXLAN NVD, covering design choices, implementation details, server connectivity options, and tested convergence numbers. Additionally, you will see a live demo showing how you can deploy a digital twin for the NVD using Containerlab for fabric instantiation and EDA for full orchestration.

Scaling multi-tenant data centers with EVPN
Designing Scalable Multi-Tenant Data Centers with EVPN
Modern multi-tenant data center (DC) fabrics commonly rely on multi-stage CLOS architectures, using high-performance leaf and spine routers to support the growing demand for workload connectivity. EVPN combined with VXLAN has become the standard for delivering Layer 2, Layer 3 unicast, and multicast services in these environments.
However, as data centers scale to massive sizes, leaf routers often face resource limitations. Merchant silicon in these platforms can support only a finite number of VXLAN tunnels, MAC entries, route table entries, interfaces, and other critical resources. Even when scale limits are not reached, operators must contend with side effects such as:
- Increased failover times, which grow linearly with the number of network instances, tunnels, bindings, routes, and hosts
- Rising operational complexity as the fabric expands
This session explores the latest EVPN advancements and design best practices that empower operators to build virtually unbounded multi-tenant data centers. We’ll also highlight key scalability and efficiency features being introduced in SR Linux and SROS to support this evolution.
