Kenji Shimabukuro joined to Biglobe as a new graduate in Apr2021, was responsible for managing Biglobe’s backbone network for nationwide ISP services in Japan for thee and a half years. Kenji supported Nokia router deployment project which was first introduction of Nokia router on Biglobe’s network, and it was successfully done. After moved to development group, working for DNS infrastructure operation and designing/buiding DDoS attack detection platform.

Paulo Martin Santos

A results-driven IT executive with years of experience driving transformational change, Paulo Martin “Santi” Santos joined Converge in April 2022 as the Chief Network Transformation Officer, where he was tasked with innovation and strategic transformation of the network in both technology and operations perspective. Under his leadership, the Network Operations of Converge was infused with AI and automated troubleshooting, realizing tremendous efficiencies in the network process. As such his efforts were recognized by international award-giving bodies including the Asian Technology Excellence Awards for Philippines Technology Excellence Award for AI -Broadband Telecommunication and the Asian Telecom Awards for AI Initiative of the Year - Philippines and Technology Innovation of the Year - Philippines. Mr. Santos implemented strategic technology initiatives that further modernized the network infrastructure of Converge, as the fastest growing broadband company in the Philippines. In September 2025, Santi became the company’s Chief Technology Officer following his change in designation from Chief Network Transformation Officer. He is tasked with evaluating emerging technologies, guiding innovation to enhance broadband services, and ensuring that the company's technology initiatives align with business goals. Specifically, he will spearhead technology initiatives with particular focus on the enterprise and/or global business. Prior to joining Converge, Mr. Santos was Vice President of Unionbank, leading the Enterprise Communication, Collaboration, and Security division. Under his watch, Unionbank’s network infrastructure was transformed to a cloud-ready Software Defined Network. Among many achievements, Mr. Santos also developed strategic partnerships to implement the first 5G enabled Bank on Wheels, which is the mobile concept branch of Unionbank. Mr. Santos is a graduate of University of the Philippines-Diliman (UP Diliman), earning a bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering in 2013. He was also a student leader, having been elected as the College of Engineering Representative in the University Student Council of UP Diliman.

Ahmed Abutaleb

He led the migration from legacy, non-Nokia platforms to cutting-edge solutions built on Nokia SR Linux (SRL), Fabric Services System (FSS), and Enterprise Data Center Automation (EDA)—introducing automation-first, intent-based designs along the way.

Prior to joining Nokia IT, Ahmed was the Lead Architect for Telco Cloud Networking and IP Backhaul at Nokia Networks. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Networking from the University of Southern California (USC), and he is certified at the highest levels in Nokia’s Routing and Data Center solutions, in addition to holding cloud networking certifications from Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure. 

Mustapha Aissaoui

Mustapha Aissaoui is a Product Manager in the Service Router Product Group of the IP/Optical Networks at Nokia. He holds an Electrical Engineering Diploma from Polytechnic School of Algiers and a MASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa. Mustapha Aissaoui has been in the Product Management role since 2004 and is responsible for the MPLS and Segment Routing features in the SR-OS based routers. He is also the lead PLM for the SR-OS based PCEP and other SDN features of the NSP. Mustapha Aissaoui is an active participant of the IETF MPLS, PCE, and SPRING working groups. He is a co-author and a major contributor to many drafts in these working groups.

Hooman Bidgoli

Hooman has 22 years of experience in IP/MPLS protocols and network solutions. He started with Newbridge Networks in LAN emulation solutions (VIVID products) and moved to 7670 MPLS solutions. He was one of the first software designers on 7705 SAR and was responsible for IP/MPLS and L2/L3 services on SAR.  As PLM, he is responsibility ranges from Anyhaul including Fronthaul and 5G solutions to Multicast solutions and Security on SR-OS products.
 

Michael Bushong

separately as the General Manager for Juniper Networks’ Data Center and Software businesses, during which time he led efforts in data center
operations, multicloud, and automation, including leading the acquisition of Apstra. Mike has also led Brocade’s Data Center and Software
businesses, having driven product and strategy for data center switching, automation, SDN, and NFV. Mike was also a pioneer in the software-
defined networking space, responsible for the first carrier-grade implementation of OpenFlow, and having been a part of the executive
team at high-flying SDN player Plexxi (later acquired by HPE).
 

Peter Busschbach

Peter Busschbach is Senior Director in Nokia’s IP/Optical Networks BU, where he is leads Product Management of Nokia’s Carrier SDN Controller, NSP.  Before assuming this role, Peter held several senior positions in the corporate CTO office and in product units where he was responsible for strategy, standardization and solution development in a wide range of technologies, including IP/MPLS, LTE, Ethernet, Optical Networking, Policy Management and Network Management. His standardization work included active participation in IETF, MPLS Forum, ITU-T and TM Forum.  Mr Busschbach began his career in telecommunications as a software developer in AT&T. He holds a Master of Science degree in Mathematics of the Eindhoven Technical University, the Netherlands.

His networking career spans over 15 years, across different organizations including AT&T, Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks and currently Nokia, and roles such as TAC engineer, engineering escalation, network architect and TME for enterprise and data center networks.  In his current role as a Solutions Engineer at Nokia, Aninda specializes in data center networks with EVPN VXLAN, while also focusing on the high demand of networking infrastructure for high-performance computing and AI/ML clusters, with a focus on designing, implementing, testing, and publishing validated designs for Nokia’s enterprise and cloud data center segments.   Aninda actively writes on his personal blog,  www.theasciiconstruct.com and is the author of Pearson’s Deploying Juniper Data Centers with EVPN VXLAN. He is also currently writing Mastering Advanced Juniper Data Centers, due to be published late 2025.

Alp Dibirdi

Footer has many more years experience in networking than he cares to divulge. To provide some context, he considered 4Mbps Token Ring connected SNA controller to Front End Processors some darn impressive technology. That was of course until he discovered the dipswitch that allowed for 16Mbps Token Ring, on the same card. What speed! What a technology! Everyone could move on, networking was now complete. What else was left. As time progressed and networking evolved, ventures into Ethernet switching, IP Routing protocols, and MPLS and the consumption of large steaks became the focus. The years flew by and about TEN years ago, yes TEN, IP & Ethernet OAM fault and performance management became the cool kid on the block. Footer lept at the opportunity to get involved in something so cool. Looking back to the Token Ring days, it was apparent he had always had an attraction to OAM. It was always fun to see how fast one could find a beaconing Token Ring NIC connected to a non-intelligent MAU using a stethoscope. OAM certainly has progress beyond the stethoscope days. It remains the wickedly cool, complicated and multifaceted technology that everyone wants to be involved with. Footer is currently a Senior PING Product Manager with responsibility for IP & Ethernet OAM strategy and architecture. He regularly attends the IETF quarterly meetings and participates in the IPPM working group, where excitement shines through on so many faces.   His efforts in the working group include, “Why you need PING and why PING doesn’t need you.”  As well as the most recent consideration, “PING PING PING PING, for the love of PING.”  He joined Riverstone Networks in 1999, and through acquisition, merger, and acquisition, has 19 years as part of Nokia. Footer is based in Toronto, Canada and we believe he still has a Token Ring network in his house.

Paresh Khatri

Paresh Khatri is the CTO for the IP Networks Business Division for Nokia Corporation in APAC.  In this role, Paresh is responsible for formulating platform and architecture strategies to meet the varied demands of operators in the Asia-Pacific region.  He has been responsible for architectural design for the largest IP transformation projects in the region and is now working closely with service providers as they address the growing demand for scale and new services that will be enabled by the evolution to 5G.  Paresh’s areas of expertise include the entire range of IP/MPLS technologies and applications, from the network core to the access network. Vach Kompella

Vach is SVP and GM of the IP Networks Division (IPN) in the Network Infrastructure Business Group at Nokia. IPN consists of 6 business units: Service Router, Network Automation, Data Center, Nuage Networks, Packet Core and Deepfield. He started with Timetra Networks in 2001, leading the development of MPLS and related technologies, and arrived at Nokia through a series of M&A activity. In 2008, he started the Mobile Gateways program in the IP Division, and was Vice President of Engineering for the Mobile Packet Core. Vach has been a speaker at many conferences, and a regular contributor to standards in the IETF. He was co-chair of the l2vpn Working Group at the IETF for five years. Vach was awarded a Bell Labs Fellowship in 2009 for his contributions to MPLS and VPLS. Prior to Nokia, Vach held positions at IBM, working in network security and IP protocols. Vach holds a PhD in CS from the University of California, San Diego, and obtained his BTech in CS from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

Craig Labovitz is Nokia CTO for the Deepfield business line. Previously, Labovitz was Co-Founder and CEO of Deepfield. Labovitz has developed the core technology, key patents, architecture and commercial strategy behind more than $1 billion in sales of large enterprise and telecom security products. His technology is deployed in more than 700 Internet Service Providers, cable operators, content providers, and mission-critical networks around the globe.  Dr. Labovitz is an expert on Internet infrastructure and cloud evolution. In the 1990s, his seminal Internet research developed the foundation for Arbor Networks technology and served as a catalyst for significant changes in commercial Internet routing software implementations throughout the world. His work was recently recognized with the prestigious ACM SIGCOMM Test of Time Award in 2008.  In addition to his extensive commercial product and research background, Dr. Labovitz has over a decade of operational network engineering experience, including NSFNet backbone engineering, Sprint's first Internet email infrastructure, design of the Department of Defense research network, and the first commercial aviation Internet service. Dr. Labovitz is an active participant in the global network engineering community, including service on the program committee and as the Chair of North American Network Operators Group (NANOG).  Labovitz is the author of more than a dozen peer-reviewed networking research papers, journal articles and patents. His is a frequent guest on national television and radio news programs and his research is widely cited in national media articles and academic publications. Dr. Labovitz received his PhD and MSE from the University of Michigan.

Krystof Miziewicz

Krystof Miziewicz is a Senior Product Line Manager at Nokia APAC IP Product Management and Consulting Engineering group. Krystof studied Electrical Engineering at Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland where he earned a M.Eng. degree in 1990. He also studied at Western Sydney University, Australia while working as a teaching fellow (1993-1996). In 1996 he joined Alcatel Australia and held various technical roles. He participated in different projects for fixed voice networks and mobile data prior to joining the IP Product group as a system engineer in 2005. In the new role he was involved in various IP/MPLS projects in Australia and New Zealand. Jorge Rabadan

Dominique Verhulst currently heads up the business development activities for Nokia’s IP Division in EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa), specifically addressing Transportation, Energy & Public Sector markets.  In this position he is helping companies to evolve their critical telecoms infrastructure to modern and future proof infrastructures enabling improved operational efficiency and cost reductions.  He has over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications networking industry, holding senior sales and marketing positions at Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent, Newbridge Networks, Ungermann-Bass and Motorola.

Louis Van Eeckhoudt

Louis Van Eeckhoudt is a New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer in the central EMEA team, based in Antwerp, Belgium. In this role, he focuses on the Data Center Fabric portfolio, performing customer demonstrations, trials, and proof-of-concepts to showcase the capabilities of Nokia’s IP product suite. His expertise centers on Nokia’s SR Linux and Event Driven Automation (EDA). Louis holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering.

Sanjay Wadhwa

Sanjay has over 20 years of experience in data communications and IP networking industry. He currently heads product management for Broadband Edge in Nokia’s IP division, driving products and roadmap for fixed and fixed-wireless (4G/5G) broadband gateway, network functions and fixed-mobile convergence. Sanjay came to Nokia via Alcatel-Lucent acquisition. Prior to Nokia, Sanjay held executive roles in Engineering and Product Management at Fore Systems, Unisphere Networks, Juniper Networks and Alcatel-Lucent. Sanjay holds several patents in IP networking and is an active contributor in IETF and BBF. He has a Masters in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering from University of Kentucky, and has completed an executive program in management from MIT, Sloan school of management. He is based in Sunnyvale, California. 

Bruce Wallis

Bruce Wallis leads SR Linux and Fabric Services System product management within Network Infrastructure division. Originally from New Zealand, now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, he cut his networking teeth on supporting Internet Service Providers in New Zealand and in the wider APAC region. Before taking the leap into product management, his role within the NI Consulting and Solutions Engineering team supporting PoC and demos on yet-unreleased NI products allowed him to build an extensive skill set in virtualization, all things Linux, and general system and solution design. Starting in the industry in 2008 at the age of 17, he now has 14 years’ experience across a wide array of roles.

Kent Wong

Drawing on 25 years of experience in the field of telecommunications and data networking, Kent Wong currently leads the Nokia IP Business in the Asia Pacific region, overseeing the business development, solution and product management, go-to-market and commercial strategies for the Asia Pacific and Japan, India and Greater China IP markets.  Kent joined Nokia through the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent, where he has led the IP and Optical business for the Asia Pacific since 2013.  Before that, Kent also served in several leader’s roles for IP business and solutions within Alcatel-Lucent Asia Pacific region, including the head of IP Competence Center, IP business development for North Asia, and senior IP product manager for the Asia Pacific.  Before Alcatel-Lucent, Kent worked in Research & Development (R&D) department for the IP Service Router in TiMetra Networks, which Alcatel acquired in 2003. Kent also worked in various R&D roles for IP products at Nortel Networks before he joined TiMetra Networks.  Kent has extensive knowledge and rich experience in business and technology in IP Routing, Optical Networking, 5G transport network transformation, network automation, analytics and security, SDN, and Cloud. Kent holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.  

Brian Walsh

Brian Walsh is the IP Core Solution Architect for the APAC Region. Brian has been part of the IP Division for the past 9 years and has held the roles of 7x50 EMEA Regional PLM, EMEA Business Services Solution Manager, Business Development Manager (Australia & New Zealand) and Systems Engineer during his time. Brian’s focus areas include: IP Core, IP/MPLS network design, router hardware architecture, IP-Optical architectures and SDN architectural evolution. Brian holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineer from Sydney University with first-class honours.
