QoS4OT advances AI-driven resilience for industrial networks
QoS4OT (QoS and cybersecurity management for Industrial OT) is being finalized for project proposal submission. The consortium includes VTT, Nokia, Kalmar, Borealis IT Solutions, Missing-Link, NetNordic, Cumucore, TurkuAMK, Port of Oulu, Telia.
The project aims to develop and validate an AI-driven multi-agent architecture for managing Quality of Service (QoS) and cybersecurity in industrial operational technology (OT) and communication networks. Through research, experimentation, and proof-of-concept deployments, particularly in automated port logistics and cargo handling, the project seeks to improve the availability, security, resilience, and predictive maintenance of critical digital infrastructures.
The project addresses the growing challenge of detecting and resolving communication disruptions across complex industrial ecosystems involving applications, devices, networks, operators, and edge computing platforms. As industrial operations become increasingly digitalized, automated, and dependent on mission-critical connectivity, effective end-to-end QoS management is essential for operational resilience and business continuity.
Key beneficiaries include network operators, communication technology providers, industrial equipment manufacturers, logistics operators, and software and data platform providers. The project will also help stakeholders understand future service requirements for Beyond 5G and 6G networks.
The expected impact includes strengthening Finland’s competitiveness in AI and advanced communications technologies, ensuring continuity of automated and AI-assisted industrial operations, supporting innovation through collaborative testing and piloting, enabling new business opportunities, fostering international partnerships, and attracting investments while delivering benefits to both industry and society.
