Why choose NSP for network automation?
Abstract ever-increasing network complexity and diversity
NSP is a comprehensive platform that makes it simpler to build multivendor networks that combine IP, MPLS, optical and microwave technologies across multiple domains. It uses intent-based networking to turn abstract service definitions into device-specific commands and leverages AI and machine learning (ML) to make life easier for your operations team.
Get the most from your people and network resources
NSP reduces your operating cost by enabling you to rely on one management and control platform that supports common tools and practices. By automating repetitive tasks and complex workflows, NSP eases the pressure on your skilled network operations staff and specialized networking tools. It also helps you make better use of your network capacity.
Keep up with fast-changing market demand
NSP aligns your network offering with your service requirements. Its flexible, modular and programmable approach helps you respond to customers’ needs and quickly adapt to changing demand patterns. It provides open interfaces that simplify integration into your existing environment to enable faster deployment and service rollouts.
Ensure a high quality of experience for every user and application
NSP is a carrier-class platform that enables you to deliver performance that meets requirements . It provides the tools you need to troubleshoot the network, fix issues quickly, move traffic and reconfigure the network before an incident actually occurs. NSP closes the loop to maintain network performance in real time in unexpected or evolving traffic and network conditions.
How NSP uses AI to transform network operations
NSP combines AI and network automation to help advance network connectivity in the AI supercycle and ease the journey toward fully autonomous networks. Network automation reduces manual effort and helps people and systems execute tasks with greater speed, consistency, and accuracy. AI extends these capabilities by accelerating data analysis and decision-making and plays a dual role in network management and automation through predictive and generative capabilities.
NSP’s agentic AI framework enables the deployment of AI agents grounded in trusted, real-time network data, allowing them to reason based on network context and take guided, explainable actions within operational guardrails. They can also interact with external agents and systems using communication protocols such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
NSP AI agents help you expedite your network operations, such as troubleshooting, to prevent downtime by identifying root causes faster, reducing operational noise, and resolving complex IP network issues with greater confidence. This lowers your operating costs and improves overall network reliability.

What NSP can do for you and your network
Equipment configuration
Zero touch provisioning (ZTP) automates the on-boarding and initial configuration of network devices to speed up infrastructure deployment and reduce human errors.
Network service delivery
NSP utilizes the power of intent-based networking (IBN) to abstract the underlying network complexity and deploy services in minutes if not seconds.
Network assurance
NSP provides supervision, reporting and prediction tools that help you quickly troubleshoot network problems, pinpoint root causes and proactively prevent issues.
Path computation
NSP acts as an external SDN controller Path Computation Element (PCE) to ensure optimal multi-layer paths across multiple domains that meet SLAs relating to cost, latency, and bandwidth.
IP-optical coordination
NSP provides unified network visualization, correlation and optimization across IP and optical layers to enable greater resiliency and enhanced operations.
Network analytics
NSP provides detailed visualizations and reporting, AI-enabled baselining and anomaly detection to help you analyze and resolve network issues in real time.
Network slicing
NSP automates the creation, assurance and optimization of network slices in the transport domain.

How NSP streamlines multivendor management
NSP provides an integrated and comprehensive solution that automates operations for fulfillment, optimization and assurance across multivendor networks. NSP simplifies and accelerates service rollout, troubleshooting and OSS integration by abstracting the detailed, and often complex, operational variations between individual vendors’ products.
NSP makes this possible using a model-driven management approach and by upgrading or onboarding network elements, whether from Nokia or third parties, at runtime, with support for backward and forward compatibility. This is achieved using its hot pluggable adaptors which support and mediate many standard and proprietary data models created with YANG and using programmatic interfaces based on protocols such as NETCONF, gRPC/gNMI and model-driven CLI. NSP can also connect through other domain controllers using proprietary or open interfaces such as T-API.
How to automate and program your network with NSP
NSP provides you with a superior toolset that lets you automate your IP, optical and microwave networks to make them more agile, reliable and secure. You can take advantage of our developer portal and user community to access documented APIs, code snippets, tutorials, generative AI capabilities and more.
We have also built a catalog of predefined use cases that will help you save time and reduce risk.
