NSP Classic Management NFM-P: IP/MPLS and Service Networks Fundamentals

Course Number: OS00014-V-1900
Course Duration: 3 days (including lectures and hands-on lab exercises)

Course Overview

This course consists of a combination of theoretical discussion to develop an understanding of, and practical hands-on exercises to reinforce, the basic concepts and principles associated with deploying, monitoring and maintaining IP/MPLS transport and Services networks. This course is intended to provide a basic understanding of the concepts and principles associated with deploying a simple Ethernet-based transport network and services to develop and reinforce an understanding of the Nokia SR OS architecture and terminology.

Course Objectives

The learner will be able to:

  • Explain the essentials of SR OS operations
  • Demonstrate their ability to successfully prepare the node hardware to support the IP/MPLS transport network
  • Explain the principles of Internal Routing Protocols
  • Demonstrate their ability to successfully deploy an SR OS IRP network
  • Explain the essentials of MPLS operations
  • Demonstrate their ability to successfully deploy SR OS MPLS within the managed domain

  • Explain the concepts of the SR OS Service Model
  • Demonstrate their ability to successfully deploy basic Ethernet services, including: VLL Epipe, VPLS, and IES
  • Explain the concepts associated with
  • Demonstrate their ability to execute the OAM tools to verify the operational status of the service provided
