Course Overview

This eLearning course explores how the NSP assurance tools help triage, prioritize and troubleshoot multiple network and service type issues.  Discover how the NSP provides efficient and effective alarm monitoring, network and service health visualizations and complete root cause and impact analysis.  Learn to use KPI summary dashboards to provide a top-level summary view of overall network and service status.  Understand how to access and use integrated analytics and OAM tools to offer a complete, end-to-end solution for the management of Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Course Objectives

 After completing the course, students should be able to: 

  • Perform the necessary tasks for onboarding the NSP assurance applications 

  • Summarize the NSP Network and Service Assurance functions 

  • Demonstrate using the NSP Fault Management Application to troubleshoot network and service issues: 

    • Explain how to pinpoint and troubleshoot top unhealthy network elements (NE) 

    • Demonstrate usage of the alarm list to find root causes and impacts quickly 

    • Identify and troubleshoot the top alarm types in the network 

    • Demonstrate usage of the Inspector view for root cause analysis 

    • Configure alarm email notifications 

  • Demonstrate using the NSP Network Supervision Application to monitor and troubleshoot network elements closely 

    • Create customized network supervision views and groups 

    • Interpret supervision group and NE tile KPIs 

    • Create a customized watch view to monitor a specific set of NEs 

    • Demonstrate how to use topology and troubleshooting maps 

    • Demonstrate how to use the event timeline for troubleshooting 

    • Demonstrate cross launching Analytics reports 

       

 

 

  • Demonstrate using the NSP Service Supervision Application to monitor and troubleshoot service issues closely 

    • Create customized service supervision views and groups 

    • Interpret service group and individual service KPIs 

    • Explain how “trending” raises awareness of service issues 

    • Use the watch view to monitor a specific set of services closely 

    • Troubleshoot using the service topology view 

    • Cross launch the NFM-P to view and/or edit the service configuration 

    • Demonstrate how to run on-demand OAM tests on service objects 

    • Demonstrate cross launching service analytics reports
