Biography

Lelio Di Martino is General Manager of Cognitive Operations, IP Networks at Nokia, where he leads cognitive operations solutions for mission-critical industries — mining, defense and public safety. He focuses on helping customers evolve from traditional connectivity models to intelligent, data-driven networks that improve operational resilience, efficiency and business outcomes.

He brings more than 15 years of experience in research and innovation leadership, including roles at Nokia Bell Labs, where he worked on advanced solutions across mining, telecommunications and large-scale computing systems — translating advanced research into large-scale deployments where downtime, safety and reliability directly affect the bottom line. His work on edge intelligence, digital twins and resilient network architectures laid the foundation for Nokia's Cognitive Operations approach, bringing together AI, edge compute and mission-critical connectivity to convert machines into autonomous, intelligent assets.
