Signal regeneration and all-optical wavelength conversion

We review the basics of all-optical signal regeneration with an emphasis on reshaping. Applying these concepts we demonstrate wavelength conversion and reshaping with respect to extinction ratio, signal pulse width and polarisation mode dispersion (PMD).
