Silicon Photonics Enabled Ultra-Wide Bandwidth Free-Space Radio Frequency Link

We demonstrate the first ultra-wideband RF link enabled by silicon photonics based optical signal proceessing. The system exhibits an instantaneous bandwidth of 12GHz and a carrier frequency of 14GHz. Filtering and phase encoding of 3GHz spaced comb lines allows for RF CDMA and interference rejection.
