Who rocked Nokia’s 2016 Nokia Quality Awards?TM

The Nokia Quality AwardsTM is unique. Both a competition and a celebration, it spotlights outstanding achievements and captures the essence of what we mean by Nokia-grade quality. This prestigious annual event drives, rewards and institutionalizes continuous improvement in our company and beyond.
Altogether, nearly 300 teams competed in the 2016 Nokia Quality Awards, which translates to almost 3,000 Nokia employees focusing on improving quality in their area. Following a rigorous multi-month assessment, the top 12 teams emerged as quality superstars. Team representatives travelled to Nokia’s global headquarters to present their quality success stories to Nokia senior leaders on October 25.
All 12 entries raised the bar on quality to deliver significant business results. The judges had the difficult job of selecting one winner in each of the four categories – three Nokia internal categories and a supplier category. I’d like to recognize the external finalists of the supplier category – Shennan Circuits, DSBJ (YCMT), and Fujitsu Optical Components. They presented brilliant quality projects. Thank you to all three for being part of this special Nokia event – and thanks as well to the 9 winning Nokia teams competing in the other 3 categories!
When it comes to quality, Nokia has both purpose and passion. We see quality as a strategic enabler and differentiator. It is the force propelling continuous improvement that in turn fuels business and technology success. Ultimately, high quality is essential to fully realizing the human possibilities of technology.
