This blog is part of our #ExpertAdvantage series – giving you the inside scoop on how Nokia Networks Services solve real operator challenges.
Think you can’t improve much on your percentage of successful calls? Well, think again. Even if you are achieving 99 percent, you can still improve. That was the experience of Mobily of Saudi Arabia, which moved the figure up to 99.5 percent with Nokia’s Managed Services – ever closer to the perfect 100.
Together with an improvement of 50 percent in downlink throughput, these sorts of gains have a real effect on the level of satisfaction of customers with their mobile broadband experience. With 40 percent of existing subscribers worldwide intending to leave their current provider, how they see their network is probably the most important issue facing operators today.
Mobily wanted to improve its customer experience, yet was hampered with a multi-technology, multi-vendor network that was costly to operate. The answer was a Managed Services deal including Care and Optimization. Over five years, Nokia Networks committed to modernizing and harmonizing the network down to each individual site across the operator’s regions.
Replacing incumbent vendors and service providers simplified operations dramatically. As well as the clear benefits of OPEX reduction and improved network performance, Mobily also highly appreciated the reduced carbon footprint.
Alaa Malki, Chief Network Officer at Mobily, says:
“Nokia Networks became the natural choice for outsourcing our network operations, and we renewed the contract for five more years. In addition, its radio technology will help us expand our network capacity to provide further improved voice and data services for our customers. Nokia Networks proven products and services have helped us boost our network and service performance at an optimal cost of ownership and reduced carbon footprint in the past.”
As operators plan for their future – seeking new business agility and keeping their subscribers happy – having a strong professional services partner is key to future success. Ultimately, Nokia brings value to operators by meeting the demands for higher network performance and connectivity, which in turn helps them achieve promptly on their business targets. This is the Expert Advantage for Mobily.
